Kifiya a Digital Service Provider leveraging innovative technology to enable and provide electronic, branchless banking and mobile money services. It has been able to offer its financial services to the citizens of Ethiopia because of the cutting edge financial inclusion solution deployed in our infrastructure and bridging the gap between the Government, banking, Microfinance and citizens.

Challenge

Ethiopian Government sponsored grants and social security funds were not reaching the right beneficiaries thus creating operational nightmare of tracking.

There was a dire need to facilitate bill payments, bus ticket booking through this solution directly as well as in assisted model via agents.

Solution

  • We have implemented a Mobile Money system for Kifiya Financial Technologies and integrated with various systems from where the funds are being sourced. The customers are enrolled into the system through mobile app. Also agent and merchant applications were created so that bill payment, bus ticket booking etc can be done in assisted model as well.
  • Salary and grant-funds to individuals can be pushed through bulk posting so that individuals can get the credit in their wallet and use it further.
  • Same solution was also made biometric enabled by integrating with Agency Banking solution provided by us.
